Diwali Festival Of Lights and Color - Celebrations At India

Diwali is the most awaited festival in Hindu calendar. Apart from being a festival of lights and color, Diwali is also a celebration of happiness, prosperity and a day that brings family members together.

Diwali is a five day event and the revelers make the most of the five days of festivities in the Karthik month, which is considered to be the most sacred month of the year. Getting the children to soak in the festive spirit is indeed a potential step in creating awareness with regard to the festivities. The elaborate rituals instill a feeling of oneness in the young minds and it is the perfect way to get them closer to their roots.Diwali for kids is a phrase inspired from the special attention that kids pay to the festival of lights.Diwali for kids holds a special meaning as not only is it the biggest Indian festival but also the most vibrant. It is all the more special for little children who look forward to the celebrations.

Diwali for kids is an effervescent event where the entire family gets together for the celebrations. Diwali for kids is certainly about vibrant fireworks, wide variety of sweets and togetherness. Exclusive Diwali gifts also catch their attention.

The third day of Diwali (Amavasya of Kartik month) is considered as the most auspicious day for Lakshmi Puja. Lakshmi Puja is the most important event of Diwali in Northern and Western India. Houses are cleaned in advance, rangoli is drawn and in the evening lamps are lit around the time of puja to welcome the goddess of wealth, Lakshmi. In Vaishnava philosophy, goddess Lakshmi is respected as “Iswarigm sarva bhootanam” meaning she is not just the goddess of wealth, but also the supreme goddess. Due to its importance, people perform the puja in a very elaborate manner to seek her blessings. Lakshmi Puja brings peace, prosperity and happiness to the family.

Diwali food recipes include a wide variety of Indian delicacies and a genuine blend of sweet dishes as well as some mouth tingling dishes such as Dhahi-bhalle. Diwali recipes, in true Indian style, differ from North India to South Indian and from West to East, but the taste and feeling with which they are made remains the same. Add to the wonderful taste, the excitement and happiness that Diwali brings and you get a perfect combination of Indian festival.
